A win but potentially at a steep cost.

The San Francisco 49ers got a gritty win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday. It was not a pretty product on the field for most of the game, as both defenses dominated the contest for much of the first three quarters and there were major injuries for both teams.

Denver lost both of its starting cornerbacks, which allowed the Niners to finally move the ball a bit and score some touchdowns on their last few drives.

On San Francisco's side, fullback Kyle Jusczcyk went down with a knee injury when he took a helmet to his knee, and it looked like it hyperextended. He was able to walk off the field with the help of some trainers, but it did not look good at all.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with the media after the game and said that safety Marques Sigle had to leave with an ankle injury and cornerback Upton Stout left with a shoulder injury.

Kyle Shanahan gives positive update on Kyle Juszczyk injury

Shanahan gave a positive update on Juszczyk after the game, saying that the early prognosis is that it may be a knee sprain and that initial tests suggest that his ACL is intact. Whenever there is a knee hyperextension like that, there is a fear of structural damage, and obviously the Niners will not know for sure until after Juice undergoes an MRI.

Still, that is positive news and at least gives a little hope because Juszczyk is so integral to what the Niners do on offense as a blocker and as a pass-catcher. He caught a pass for a first down on the play he got injured on, so one hopes he does not have to miss a significant amount of time.

Other 49ers injuries don't appear disastrous

With Sigle, who has played well thus far, he exited the game with an ankle injury but then came back in. Then he had to leave again late in the contest, and thankfully, was able to walk off and did not need a cart. As for Stout, Shanahan said the early thinking is he suffered an injury to his AC joint. He and Sigle are both a big part of the secondary, so they need them especially with the defensive line already so banged up.

Shanahan was also asked about star linebacker Fred Warner who left the game at one point but came back in. The head coach said it was a stomach issue, but the fact he came back in suggests it was not major.

It was a big win for the Niners, but now they have to go to Seattle and play the Seahawks next week. Maybe the three guys who left the game versus Denver will have a shot to play, but at least none of them sound like they are season-ending at this point.
