In a year full of disappointment for the 2024 San Francisco 49ers, one of the few standouts was wide receiver Jauan Jennings. However, Jennings does not seem to be settling as he is reportedly working with wide receiver guru David Robinson.

Robinson has worked with many NFL wide receivers and has a reputation for helping train receivers who end up getting drafted fairly high in the NFL Draft. Robinson told MLFootball: "Jauan looks focused and his route running & footwork has improved tremendously in and out of his breaks!"

It is great to see that Jennings is not satisfied after he turned in a career-best year for San Francisco in 2024. In 15 games, Jennings had 975 receiving yards and six touchdown catches. He really stepped up when the 49ers needed him to with Deebo Samuel underperforming and Brandon Aiyuk getting injured after also underperforming.

Now, Samuel is on the Washington Commanders and Aiyuk's availability for the start of next season is in question. That means San Francisco is going to need Jennings to step up yet again as it seems he is going to be the top receiver on the team's depth chart to begin next season.

The 27-year-old proved last year that he can play at the level of a top wide receiver, but next year may be more of a challenge for him. With Samuel gone and Aiyuk injured, that mean's opposing defenses will have fewer weapons to account for which means they can put more attention on Jennings.

That is why it makes sense that the former Tennessee Volunteer is trying to improve his game and take things to the next level. Any small improvements he can make in his route running could pay huge dividends when every inch of separation matters in the NFL.

It is also important to note that Jennings is entering a contract year. He knows that if he wants to land a big contract he is going to have to have another great season.

It would certainly be a great win-win scenario if Jennings went out for San Francisco and had a great year that helps the team get back on track while also putting him in a great position to get paid.

The 49ers are certainly going to need it with the current state of their wide receiver room, so it is great to see that Jennings is willing to put in the work to improve his craft after a great year.
