The San Francisco 49ers stunned the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, going into Lincoln Financial Field and eliminating the defending Super Bowl champions in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

Star Niners linebacker Fred Warner wasted no time savaging the Eagles on social media after the game:

If you cannot access the post, Warner wrote, "Get yall rest Philly!! Hahahaa DUB CITYYYY!!!!!!" He followed that with a fingers crossed emoji, a fire emoji, and a prayer hands emoji, which is only going to fuel speculation that Warner could return this postseason.

Plus, it was a nice dig at the Eagles who decided to rest their starters in Week 18 to prepare for the Wild Card round. They were basically saying they did not mind having to face the 49ers and ended up getting burnt by that decision in a major way.

Of course, when Warner went down with a brutal ankle injury in the regular season, many assumed his season would be over.

Yet, he has hinted that he could potentially return in the playoffs if the Niners advanced far enough.

Some have speculated that he could be healthy enough to be back should San Francisco, improbably, make the Super Bowl. But some have even suggested that the All-Pro and likely future Hall of Fame linebacker could return in the divisional round, even though head coach Kyle Shanahan poured some cold water on a Warner return in the near future.

That seems like a tall ask, given the severity of his injury and the fact that he has not practiced in months, to throw him into the fire against a well-rested Seattle Seahawks team while the 49ers are banged up beyond belief.

They lost another future Canton enshrine in tight end George Kittle who went down with an Achilles injury against the Eagles.

Arguably, the star of the game for the Niners was the man tasked with filling in for Warner, Eric Kendricks. The veteran was signed to the practice squad in November and has only been active for a few games. He had to make his first start of the season against the Eagles after San Francisco was without both Tatum Bethune and Dee Winters.

Kendricks came up with some huge plays, none more monumental than a play on 4th-and-11 with the Eagles needing a first down to keep the game alive as the UCLA product swatted down a pass from Jalen Hurts to end the game.

If the 49ers can keep winning and somehow get Warner back on the field, that would provide an unbelievable jolt of energy to a beleaguered defense that has done incredibly well given the circumstances.
