Final 49ers injury report for Week 11 lists too many starters for comfort

Ideally, the Niners would have a cleaner slate of health than what they have for Week 11 against the visiting Seahawks.

The 49ers are more banged up than they'd like to be for Week 11 when they host the Seahawks.

The San Francisco 49ers could potentially be notably shorthanded for their Week 11 NFC West showdown against the 4-5 Seattle Seahawks.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan is still without top cornerback Charvarius Ward, who is on bereavement leave in the wake of his daughter's devastating passing. And there's also the possibility punter Mitch Wishnowsky winds up missing time with a back issue that apparently flared up during the Niners' Week 10 road win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Plenty of other noteworthy names found themselves on San Francisco's final injury report entering Week 11, too.

Based on Shanahan's Friday presser, it seems as if Wishnowsky could be placed on injured reserve with his injury, which would make room for Gross-Matos, whose practice window opened. General manager John Lynch already said the defensive end could be activated from IR in advance of the Seahawks game.

The 49ers signed free-agent punter Pat O'Donnell to their practice squad to alleviate Wishnowsky's absence.

Meanwhile, potentially missing Bosa, Williams, Banks and Kittle could force Shanahan to run out something of a "B-team" group of starters, should they end up missing the contest.

On the positive side, the Niners did not include wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle) on their final injury report, clearing him for Sunday's game. There were concerns about Jennings' status after reportedly rolling his ankle during practice this week.

San Francisco kicks off against Seattle on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 4:05 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
