San Francisco 49ers fans have seen their favorite team nearly reach the pinnacle so many times this decade. It has been frustrating to watch the Niners go ringless while other top NFC teams have won the Lombardi, and one graphic captures that frustration.
In a graphic shared on social media, it shows how the 49ers have the most wins of any NFC team in the 2020s but do not have any Super Bowl wins, while the Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, and Seattle Seahawks have all gotten the job done.
When it comes to the Rams and the Seahawks' victories, it's a bit frustrating because the Rams were able to face the Cincinnati Bengals while the Seahawks had a fairly easy opponent in the New England Patriots.
Meanwhile, the Niners had to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs twice, coming heartbreakingly close to victory on both occasions.
The Eagles had to take on the Chiefs twice as well and got the better of them the second time around, but it hurts knowing that San Francisco has been knocking on the door for so long and yet has no titles to show for it.
To make matters worse, the Niners have to deal with the Rams and Seahawks being in the same division as them. Philadelphia is clearly the best NFC East team right now, so they don't have a ton of competition in their division, meanwhile the NFC West is stacked and does not appear to be getting easier anytime soon.
While the gap between the Niners and the Seahawks can be a bit overblown at times, it still exists. Anyone who saw San Francisco's two losses to Seattle in the final three weeks of the season knows that changes need to be made.
The nice thing for the Niners is that even though the 2025 season ultimately ended in disappointment, they can be proud of what they accomplished given the adversity they had to overcome.
Their most recent playoff loss does not feel like the gut punch losses in the Super Bowl that were followed by a letdown season. Instead, this feels more like when the Niners got blown out by the Eagles in the NFC Championship game after losing both of their quarterbacks and coming back the next season on a mission to get back there.
If the Niners can get healthy and make some key offseason additions, then maybe they will finally join those fellow NFC teams with a title of their own this decade.
