The San Francisco 49ers won in about as convincing fashion as possible, upending the Miami Dolphins 35-13 in the home opener in Week 2.
Of course, Miami is projected to be awfully bad, so the fact head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense steamrolled the Dolphins over the course of four quarters isn't that big a surprise.
What's also not a surprise is the Niners losing yet another player to injury.
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, who was mostly a non-factor in 2025 but showed up nicely in Week 1's win over the Los Angeles Rams with two catches for 50 yards and a touchdown, went down with what appeared to be a non-contact ankle injury in the first half.
It appeared as if Robinson extended a bit to haul in the 19-yard reception, but he came up in pain and limped off the field, requiring some assistance in the process.
49ers must hope Demarcus Robinson injury isn't too serious
Already shorthanded at wide receiver, particularly after rookie De'Zhaun Stribling suffered an ankle injury in Week 1's win, Robinson figured to be a primary beneficiary and would have to shoulder a bigger load behind receivers Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel.
Up until his injury, it appeared as if Robinson would do just that. He had three receptions for 34 yards, indicating he'd be a go-to option for Purdy.
While the official diagnosis might be a day away, some initial medical reactions aren't promising:

I was more concerned about his knee but now 49ers are calling it an ankle injury. Maybe something happened earlier in his route pic.twitter.com/1BrSyyZWtn
Stribling is set to miss 10 weeks after ankle surgery, meaning an extended Robinson absence would cause even more problems.
Especially over the long run.
Wide receiver injuries becoming a theme for 49ers
Third-year pro Ricky Pearsall's season-ending surgery prior to the regular season might've cast a shadow over San Francisco, and it appears those setbacks are starting to filter into the regular season.
Evans, who had three catches for 54 yards, also exited the game with a hip injury, but that was at a point when the 49ers were up big. And the veteran was subsequently seen on the sideline with his teammates and not being tended to by trainers.
One can hope (and possibly figure) the Niners simply had no reason to continue fielding the future Hall of Famer, who also dealt with several minor injury setbacks during camp.
Fortunately, with San Francisco running up the score, Shanahan was able to turn to his reserves, including giving depth receivers Jacob Cowing and KhaDarel Hodge an extended bit of snaps with Robinson and Evans removed from the tilt.
Now, the 49ers simply have to hope Robinson's injury isn't too serious, and he'll be able to return sooner than later.
