Commanders fans look foolish after learning what 49ers knew about Brandon Aiyuk

First time, huh?

With all of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s antics as of late, the one thing he’s been successful at is duping some Washington Commanders fans into thinking he’s a victim in this whole saga.

When head coach Kyle Shanahan announced his team’s mandatory minicamp was canceled, some Commanders fans were quick to theorize this was so Aiyuk wouldn’t be able to report and trigger his release from San Francisco. That was quickly disproven after the Los Angeles Rams dd the same thing.

With the way some of them we’re talking about Aiyuk, it was getting dangerously close to a #FreeBritney movement as they seemed to be under the impression the 49ers were holding Aiyuk against his will like he was in a Britney Spears-like conservatorship.

49ers fans knew it was all hogwash.

Commanders fans haven’t been following the seemingly never-ending attention-seeking Aiyuk has been pursuing for years now. Niners fans know from the way he handled his contract negotiations, to the answers he gave in postgame press conferences, to silly spats over the color of his shorts, that Aiyuk creates drama.

Now it seems Commanders fans are finally starting to understand the real Aiyuk, and all it took was him going after quarterback Jayden Daniels. The two had a tiff on social media stemming from a video showing Daniels laughing as a 49ers fan disparaged Aiyuk.

Apparently, the wide receiver didn’t like that, made his feelings known on social media, unfollowed Daniels, and then Daniels returned the favor. That's not exactly the smartest strategy from Aiyuk, considering the Commanders were the only team that might have entertained giving him a shot.

Commanders fans were quick to criticize Aiyuk for going after Daniels, so it seems pretty clear there is not much of a desire anymore among that fanbase, or the quarterback, to get Aiyuk to come to Washington.

His social media behavior has just been so bizarre as of late that it’s a wonder any fanbase could have fallen for all of it. Maybe the Commanders are so desperate for a wide receiver that fans are willing to take anyone, including Aiyuk or Stefon Diggs, to boost the depth chart.

Hopefully, Commanders fans have now learned their lesson and will not fall for another wide receiver claiming that he’s been mistreated when really he’s the main person to blame for his predicament.

Now it feels like Aiyuk's time in the NFL could be over.
