Unsettling footage posted by embattled San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has raised some concerns for his immediate safety, as the beleaguered former No. 1 receiver posted himself speeding past Levi's Stadium at high speed in what can only be described as lacking in any type of judgement.

The video, which has been uploaded to his personal YouTube channel and is just under four minutes long, shows Aiyuk taking his Cadillac for a spin throughout the streets. About halfway through the video, he can be seen roaring past the stadium at speeds over 100 miles per hour on surface streets, not freeways:

While it could be easy to forgive the footage as an unwise act, not necessarily a cry for help, the truth of the matter is Aiyuk has been essentially separated from the team for a year now. He's not known as someone to do something like this previous in his career, and it feels like something that's a lapse of judgement at best and a real cry for help at worst.

Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated agrees with this assessment, posting his worry for Aiyuk and his hope that someone whether it be from the team or his family can get in contact with him to prevent things from becoming worse.

We've seen some players do some things that seemed very odd at the time, and only afterwards has it turned out it may have been a cry for help all along.

This isn't to say that Aiyuk's case is heading that way, but certainly what the wide receiver posted cannot be seen to just be excused as merely just rash behaviour either.

Given the circumstances, it should certainly be hoped that Aiyuk does get someone immediately in his ear to tell him just how bad his actions look, and the concern that people do have for him.
