Brandon Aiyuk's career sabotage finally reached point of no return

How can he come back from this?

The last time wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk stepped onto the field in a meaningful game was back in October of 2024 when he eventually suffered a torn ACL and MCL.

Turns out, that San Francisco 49ers home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs may very well be the last time Aiyuk ever plays again.

Aiyuk's seemingly endless rants on social media—bashing the Niners, the players association and now, apparently, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels—have already tarnished a questionable reputation, one already hanging by a thread in light of his serious injury and then going AWOL from the Niners last year.

And yet, amid his repeated calls about inevitably joining the Commanders, Aiyuk's shot at Daniels might be the final straw that ultimately caves in his career.

Why would Washington want to take a chance on Aiyuk, even if he and Daniels were just trolling the NFL world, in light of the other red flags?

Sadly for the talented wideout, the latest action might've been one far too many.

Brandon Aiyuk might've sealed his NFL career fate (and experts agree)

The Commanders might be the lone squad out there willing to take a chance on Aiyuk, given his prior collegiate pedigree with their signal-caller, plus the relationship with now-Washington general manager Adam Peters, who helped draft Aiyuk back in 2020 when he was with San Francisco's front office.

Now, though, the Commanders are likely realizing what the 49ers already knew.

If that's truly the case, and Washington ultimately wants no part of Aiyuk's services, there isn't a market for him elsewhere, which is what ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler pointed out in reaction to the receiver's latest social media rants:

He continues to nuke his job prospects at this point. I’ve talked to several teams about Brandon Aiyuk, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Is there any sort of sound strategy he’s employing here? And they can’t think of anything other than this is just sort of insensible.

Aiyuk was already torpedoing his career over the last several months, and this might just be the latest exclamation point to reinforce the hard truth.

If the Commanders ultimately turn down any opportunity to sign him, Aiyuk's career might be over.
