Former San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis had a great NFL career and has remained busy in his post-playing days. He's in a bizarre commercial that you may have seen recently, which is worthy of mention with some of the strange Niners commercials over the years.

The commercial in question begins with an explanation of the service, which supposedly is a call center helping people who were the victim of some sort of accident, and Davis comes in at the end as a spokesperson.

He is introduced as "Super Bowl champ and two-time Pro Bowler Vernon Davis." The champion of Super Bowl 50 as a member of the Denver Broncos then comes in and tells viewers that if they were the victim of an accident that was not their fault, they should call into this hotline to see how much money they could be entitled to.

It is bizarre and a bit jarring to see Davis in a commercial like this, but athletes are often in bizarre commercials, and if they offered him a decent amount of money to appear in the campaign, then it is understandable.

Davis has turned to the world of acting and producing since his playing days, so his appearance in the commercial is something he can add to his acting reel.

49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has appeared in his own goofy commercials, whether it is recent Toyota ones with Eli Manning or a commercial for a boot company where he straight up dances. Perhaps that was foreshadowing for his infamous "Dougie" dance moves that he broke out against the Cleveland Browns.

Former 49ers quarterback Steve Young appeared in some goofy commercials of his own, so the Niners have a proud history of players appearing strange commercials that Davis can now add his name to.

Davis did have some great seasons with San Francisco and was a key part of those teams under Jim Harbaugh in the early 2010s that made deep playoff runs.

No moment in his career is more memorable than when he broke into tears after a game-winning touchdown reception against the New Orleans Saints in early 2012 to send the Niners to the NFC Championship game.

With how great tight end George Kittle has been in his career, it is easy to forget just how good Davis was at his peak. Kittle is on a Hall of Fame pace, but the solid career Davis put together should not be forgotten.

Even if he is now appearing in strange commercials.
