San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Mac Jones showed he has a silly side in his first season with the Niners. He also showed that he is good enough to be a starting quarterback in the NFL, which is why trade rumors continue to swirl around him.
But Jones has continued to show his silly side even now that the season is over, as he seems to be enjoying life both on and off the football field.
Last week, Jones participated in a massive snowball fight in New York City. Then, he and his teammate Kendrick Bourne posted a video of themselves dancing in Mexico, so the quarterback is living it up and having fun in all different climates.

Bourne and Jones were teammates in New England under head coach Bill Belichick, and it seems clear it wasn't the right environment for Jones to thrive in. The strictness and rigidity of the culture that existed there works for some players, but Jones is a guy who likes to laugh, some might say cackle, and be himself which he was able to do with San Francisco.
The University of Alabama product was signed by the 49ers to be a backup for Brock Purdy last offseason, and that ended up being an incredibly prudent move. Jones played so well for the Niners when Purdy was out with an injury, and the former showed that if he is in a good system and is comfortable, he can thrive.
Not only did Jones play well, but it's clear guys on the team liked playing for him. Whether it was because of Jones' personality or because he fought through injuries to grind out the grittiest win of the year when the Niners were banged up and took down the Los Angeles Rams on the road, he got guys excited to play alongside him and who were more than willing to go into battle with him.
Now, the question is whether the 49ers would decide to deal him.
It's clear San Francisco isn't shopping Jones, and reports suggest not a lot of teams are reaching out about him so far. Maybe that will change as the offseason drags on, and if the 49ers get offered a decent draft pick in return, they may not have a choice.
If Jones remains on the Niners, there will at least be some sense of security if Purdy goes down again, and no matter what, it seems like Jones is going to be goofy now that he feels comfortable in his own skin.
