49ers fans can't help but point and laugh at Cardinals' GM's Carson Beck comments

The San Francisco 49ers want nothing more than to ensure their NFC West rivals, the Arizona Cardinals, stay at the very bottom of the division for the foreseeable future.

It might be a hard thing to do, though. After all, Arizona's draft class is already striking a little bit of fear into the Niners' minds, particuarly with the top three draft selections of running back Jeremiyah Love, offensive guard Chase Bisontis and quarterback Carson Beck.

Speaking of Beck, it's not quite clear whether or not the third-round draftee out of Miami will be a franchise centerpiece, one who'll aim to torment San Francisco for years. After all, the 2026 draft class wasn't exactly known for its quarterback play.

That said, the Cardinals should be willing to try anything amid yet another rebuild, this time under first-year head coach Mike LaFleur.

For starters, though, it appears as if Arizona general manager Monti Ossenfort just wants to get the rookie signal-caller some directions around the facility.

Cardinals GM offers laughable comments for Carson Beck

Speaking to reporters after the Cardinals selected Beck, Ossenfort was asked about his team's plans under center and whether or not the first-year pro would assume any significant duties, specifically with veterans Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew ahead of him on the depth chart.

Ossenfort's response was, well... interesting.

"We just want to get him in the building here," the GM said. "Show him where the cafeteria is."

Now, it's not hard to draw some humor here. Beck just got himself drafted, and it's going to be an adjustment to life at the NFL level. Indeed, Ossenfort might be wise to pump the breaks on any expectations.

That said, the funspeak isn't exactly how one wants to approach the discussion surrounding drafting a potential starting quarterback. If anything, expressing some excitement and propping up his young signal-caller might've been the better play on words.

Either way, at least Niners fans can rest assured knowing their newest rival QB won't go hungry after learning exactly where to pick up food within the Cardinals building.
