No. 3: Jauan Jennings has to be threatened by 49ers drafting Ronnie Bell

Granted, one of wide receiver Jauan Jennings’ biggest assets is the fact he’s a willing blocker and arguably the best skill player to get in a fight with, proverbially speaking, of course.

Jennings’ physicality and “annoyance,” so to speak, are two great traits that have benefited San Francisco’s offense. Despite his lack of straight-line speed, Jennings has also emerged as a legitimate third-down weapon whose contract is also exceptionally cheap.

So, why would he be threatened by a seventh-round wide receiver, Ronnie Bell out of Michigan?

Bell, 6-foot-0 and 191 pounds, is notably smaller and not quite as physical. But he’s also a great possession receiver who’s capable of lining up on the boundary or out of the slot.

Eventually, the 49ers have to think about life after one of their top two wideouts, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, and Bell could come into play there.

For now, though, Jennings is the primary player who could see his role reduced or eliminated by someone like Bell.
