49ers target: Dante Stills, Defensive Tackle, West Virginia

Draft Range: 3rd-5th round

The 49ers have committed to the interior for the long haul with Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave, but they still need to find more depth on the interior for rotational purposes and to add a bit more firepower.

Dante Stills is an interesting mid-round prospect who could provide an immediate pass-rushing boost on the interior. Stills had 26 tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a tipped pass for the West Virginia Mountaineers in 2022.

Stills plays with a big motor, using his sheer force of will to bully through defenders. While he lacks the size of a true defensive tackle, he more than makes up for it and can still be a potent weapon,

While Stills is a bit undersized at 6-foot-3 and 286 pounds, he’s still a dangerous pass-rusher who can be a rotational piece on obvious passing downs. While he’s never going to be a good run defender and care should be taken not to expose him too much on that front, he looks like a good Day 3 pick who can be a rotational piece in the NFL.
