5 prime targets for 49ers in 2nd wave of NFL free agency

49ers free-agent target No. 3: Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin
Sticking with the cornerback theme here for a moment, the 49ers don’t want their defensive backfield to turn into a weakness despite losing players like Emmanuel Moseley, Jimmie Ward and Tarvarius Moore.
They also don’t want to run the risk of adding injury-prone, older players either, so going after Marcus Peters might not cut it if he’s asking more than a low-value price.
A cheaper option, if for no other reason than name recognition, would be cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, who enjoyed a solid if not overly spectacular or recognizable 2022 campaign with the Las Vegas Raiders. While there, the 26 year old registered 45 tackles and broke up seven passes over 11 games.
Sure, he might not be a turnover-generating machine. But Ya-Sin is coming off a career-best mark of forcing opposing quarterbacks to toss a passer rating of just 82.6.
Ya-Sin would likely be much cheaper than Peters. The former is notably younger, too.
