2023 NFL Draft, Pick No. 11: Tennessee Titans – Peter Skoronski, Offensive Tackle, Northwestern

The Tennessee Titans desperately need an upgrade at tackle this offseason. Left tackle Taylor Lewan is talented but constantly injured, while right tackle is a weakness.

Peter Skoronski is the top tackle on the board and would fill an immediate need.

A talented tackle who can also kick inside to guard, Skoronski has been a star for Northwestern since filling the boots of Rashawn Slater, a former first-round pick and All-Pro for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Skoronski looks destined to be the next high draft pick from the Wildcats’ offensive line. The most important thing for any offensive lineman is hand placement combined with footwork, and this is what Skoronski excels at. His movement is smooth without any stiffness, and he uses his hands to punch into the defender at the point of attack to lock them in.

The smooth speed that Skoronski has allows him to also effectively set the edge in the ground game. He frequently beats defenders to that point to seal it and force open running lanes.

The one knock on Skoronski is he does have short arms and won’t measure well at the NFL Combine for this reason, but his technique has been shown to negate this. While some teams might prefer lengthier players and see Skoronski more as a guard, he has more than enough to compensate for this and be a good tackle for the next level.
