2023 NFL Draft, Pick No. 10: Philadelphia Eagles – Tuli Tuipulotu, EDGE, USC

The rush (pun intended) on edge rushers continues, as the Philadelphia Eagles look to upgrade the defensive line after their close loss in the Super Bowl. The Eagles have an elite pass rush, but Brandon Graham and Robert Quinn are both aging EDGEs (35 and 33, respectively) who are out of contract.

Tuli Tuipulotu blasted into first-round consideration after a strong season with USC, notching up 13.5 sacks and two forced fumbles for the season for the Trojans. He has amazing power and speed at his disposal, and he is excellent both against the pass and the run.

Tuipulotu is a particular fit for the Eagles because he can also play inside (the Eagles have six players out of contract on the defensive line alone this offseason and will find it hard to extend them all) in a 4-3 defense.

Tuipulotu plays with a lot of violence in his game, using his physicality at the point of attack to gain leverage and then get around with his blazing speed. He has a good range of pass-rushing moves at his disposal and isn’t particularly dependent on one thing.

The downside to Tuipulotu is it’s hard to see his natural position in the NFL. He sits at 6-foot-3 and is 290 pounds, so he’s a bit of a tweener between EDGE and defensive tackle.

Luckily, the Eagles might find this an advantage, as they can move him around as they see fit.
