These players will matter most when the 49ers host the Seahawks in an NFC Wild Card game.

The San Francisco 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks this Saturday to kick off the Wild Card round of the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

It will be the first playoff game Levi’s Stadium has hosted since the 2019 NFC Championship game, in which the home team won 37-20 against the Green Bay Packers, to punch their tickets to Super Bowl LIV.

The game Saturday will mark the third time these two division rivals meet this season. The 49ers of course defeated the Seahawks in both regular season meetings by a combined score of 48-20.

It’s also worth noting that in those past two meetings, the 49ers committed zero turnovers, to four from the Seahawks.

There is rain forecasted for the game on Saturday and while that seems like it might favor the team from the Emerald City, it might actually favor the home team which is built on a league-best defense and punishing run game.

The 49ers absolutely dominated the run game in both of those two meetings as well. In their first matchup in September, they out-rushed the Seahawks 189 yards to 36 yards.

In their second matchup, San Francisco rushed for 170 yards to Seattle’s 70 yards on the ground.

San Francisco finishes the season with the best defense in the league only allowing 300.6 yards per game. Seattle on the other hand had the seventh-worse defense in the league allowing 361.7 yards per game to opponents in 2022.

Who might we see be the top performers for the 49ers on Saturday? Let’s take a look at three players who just might stand out.
