The San Francisco 49ers appear to have a brutal list of opponents for the 2023 season. Here are the three most interesting teams they will face next season.

It’s hard to find any big knocks against the San Francisco 49ers for the results of the 2022 season. After a lackadaisical 3-4 start to the season, Kyle Shanahan rallied his team to win 10 straight contests to close out the regular season and finished with the number two seed in the NFC playoffs.

This team finished with the top-ranked defense in the NFL, and most would agree that the 49ers have one of the most well-rounded rosters in the league. Still, there are those who chalk up some of their success this year to having a cupcake schedule. It’s highly unlikely that those people will be able to use that excuse in 2023.

Recently, the NFL released the official list of opponents each team will face next season, and the 49ers will have a brutal slate against some talented teams in the NFC East and AFC North. Of their seventeen games on next year’s schedule, here are the top three most interesting opponents the San Francisco 49ers will face in 2023.

3. San Francisco 49ers vs Dallas Cowboys

The 49ers and Cowboys have had some matchups with huge implications in recent years. Back in 2020, these two teams squared off days before Christmas in a shootout that saw Dallas winning a 41-33 contest. Last year, Kyle Shanahan’s squad met the Cowboys in the playoffs and an impressive rushing attack led to a huge playoff victory for San Francisco.

It seems very likely that these two teams could meet in the post-season once again depending on the outcomes of the Wild Card round this week in the NFC. Next year, there’s no reason to suspect that either team should fall off as legitimate Super Bowl contenders, and with some nail-biters over the past few seasons, this will be one of the biggest games in the NFL to watch next year.
