49ers game Thursday: Niners vs. Seahawks odds and prediction for NFL Week 15 game
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers can’t rest after demolishing the Buccaneers on Sunday as they travel to face the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.
There weren’t too many negatives from the San Francisco 49ers’ commanding 35-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14 aside from the fact that head coach Kyle Shanahan again watched the injuries pile up.
The Niners dealt with a number of injury setbacks, including losing defensive tackles Kevin Givens and Kerry Hyder to compound what’s already a thin D-line.
But the biggest setback by far was losing All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel to an ankle injury.
It’s unclear how bad the injury is just yet, but the likelihood is Samuel won’t be available for San Francisco’s short week, now traveling north to take on the 7-6 Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football for a game that could have massive implications for who wins the NFC West this season.
The 49ers already beat the Hawks back in Week 2, and Shanahan’s squad is a perfect 4-0 within the division, and those tiebreakers could be vital if both teams finish with an identical record, although the Niners watched Seattle lose in Week 14.
Even if Samuel isn’t back, San Francisco is shaping up to be an early road favorite for the short week in prime time.

49ers vs. Seahawks game prediction Week 15
There was a stretch earlier this season when quarterback Geno Smith and the Seahawks seemed to define all odds and the thinking they’d be among the worst teams in the NFL, pound for pound.
Despite that solid streak, the Hawks have come down to earth a little bit more and have lost three of their last four games, including an embarrassing 30-24 home defeat at the hands of the lowly Carolina Panthers at the same time the Niners were walloping the Bucs.
It’s still going to be a challenge for San Francisco’s star against Tampa Bay, rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, who now has to play his first NFL road start on a massively short week.

But, if facing off against Buccaneers future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t enough pressure for Purdy, neither will having to deal with the 12s up in Seattle.
This, along with the 49ers already boasting the NFL’s best defense and plenty of other stars on offense even if Samuel isn’t available, bodes well for predicting a Niners victory.
We’ll go ahead and suggest Purdy helps engineer San Francisco to a 24-13 win over the Seahawks on Thursday night, and that’ll all but seal the NFC West for the 49ers to round out the rest of the season.
