The 49ers injuries have piled up again, and they have a number of key players battling injuries ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Dolphins.

The San Francisco 49ers’ final full practice of Week 13 ended with mixed results on the injury front; One important member of the offense was cleared for game action, while another is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup.

Christian McCaffrey is cleared to play for 49ers on Sunday

49ers top running back Christian McCaffrey, who has been bothereed by a knee injury, practiced in full on Thursday and Friday, and is cleared to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. In addition to McCaffrey, defensive lineman Arik Armstead also practiced in full on Friday and is set to officially return from his early-season foot injury.

Deebo Samuel’s situation has not improved as expected

Deebo Samuel was very limited in practice this week due to a quadricep injury, and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan noted Samuel’s injury continues to be a significant issue. Shanahan added, “When you have a deep thigh bruise, you kind of have an idea of how it’s going to be, and it just hasn’t been as good as we were expecting by now. We were expecting him to be able to go full by now. He wasn’t able to, and that’s why there is some concern.”

If Deebo is unable to suit up on Sunday, expect McCaffrey to see more action in the backfield and wide receiver Jauan Jennings to attempt to fill his void in the intermediate passing game.

Trent Williams experienced back spasms and is now listed as questionable

The 49ers could potentially be forced to play without their best offensive lineman on Sunday as left tackle Trent Williams missed practice and is now listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Williams was a late addition to the injury report after experiencing back spasms during warmups before Friday’s practice began.

However, Shanahan stated he was, “not too concerned,” and implied Williams will play against Miami on Sunday. “You usually have them on game day, and that’s a big deal. So he had them today. Spend the day resting and stuff, and expect him to be all right–but I hope that doesn’t happen on Sunday.”

As expected, running back Elijah Mitchel will not play, but the RB could avoid going on Injured Reserve.
