49ers game Sunday: Niners vs. Dolphins odds and prediction for NFL Week 13 game
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers look to continue their win streak, and they’ll attempt to do so in Week 13 against some old friends who are now with the Dolphins.
Both the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins are playing hot right now, and both are eyeing a climb up their respective conference’s playoff standings to get into the final stretch of the regular season.
The Niners are coming off a defensive-dominant shutout of the New Orleans Saints in which coordinated DeMeco Ryans’ unit continued San Francisco’s second-half shutout streak by blanking NOLA in a final score of 13-0.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins cashed in on a 30-15 home victory over the lowly Houston Texans to stay hot within the vaunted AFC East.
All important storylines, yes. But that’s not going to be what fans will talk about during this game.
No, this Week 13 bout at Levi’s Stadium will feature plenty of familiar faces, including now-Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel after his lengthy tenure underneath 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan before jumping ship last offseason.
McDaniels has a number of former Niners, too, including running back Raheem Mostert and wide receiver Trent Sherfield, and San Francisco recently added to that crop by trading fellow tailback Jeff Wilson Jr. to Miami, too.
Combine that with Mostert tossing a little bit of shade back in the 49ers’ direction, and Sunday’s contest could be a bit juicy.
49ers vs. Dolphins betting odds Week 13
The 49ers are riding a four-game win streak, and they’ve shut out their opponents in the second half of each one of those games.
Doing so against Miami might prove to be difficult, though, and the oddsmakers over at WynnBET list the home-team Niners as a mere 3.5-point favorite, and it’s common for the home squad to have a three-point advantage anyway.
The over/under for the game is 47.0.

49ers vs. Dolphins prediction Week 13
The Dolphins might be the most equal opponent San Francisco has faced since squaring off against the Los Angeles Chargers back in Week 10, and it wouldn’t be a complete farce to argue that Miami is superior to LA in a pound-for-pound measure.
Both teams do have maligned quarterbacks, the 49ers with Jimmy Garoppolo and the Dolphins with Tua Tagovailoa, yet both signal-callers have enjoyed resurgent 2022 campaigns, too.
The Niners have the better defense, though, and that’ll matter. They’ll also be hosting an East Coast team traveling across the country, and that team just so happened to lose its starting left tackle Terron Armstead to an injury that could keep him out of Sunday’s contest.
Usually, given the comparable matchup, it might simply be wise to go with the home team, and that’s what we’ll do here in our opening prediction, suggesting San Francisco wins 27-24 with Miami covering.
However, it’ll be much more entertaining to watch the chess match between Shanahan and McDaniel, while some of those former 49ers players look to get vengeance against their former employer.
The Niners and Dolphins kick off on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4:05 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium.
