Takeaway No. 1: 49ers can win Super Bowl with this Jimmy Garoppolo

Put this on the record and frame it for posterity if you need to, but this is exactly the kind of Jimmy Garoppolo that the 49ers can win their sixth Super Bowl with: Careful, economical, thorough, accurate and completely in the zone getting the ball to the various playmakers that the team have surrounded him with.

He isn’t Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert or Josh Allen, but he doesn’t need to be. Jimmy G is Nick Foles or Peyton Manning (the Denver version) in that he’s entrusted to run the offense and keep out of trouble.

In short, Garoppolo is a system quarterback, and that’s just fine for the Niners.

Garoppolo went 20-of-29 passing for 228 yards and four touchdowns. It might have been his finest game ever for San Francisco, and he was at his absolute pinnacle on Monday night.

Garoppolo has had a fine season, and if he can keep this form going into the playoffs, then the 49ers will fancy their chances against every team.

Just keep the poor throws to a minimum and keep feeding his stars around him, and Garoppolo will be more popular than ever.
