With the second half of the season about to begin, Niner Noise takes a look at the 49ers’ remaining schedule to predict the team’s final record.

The San Francisco 49ers are coming out of their bye week with a Sunday Night Football matchup at Levi’s Stadium against the Los Angeles Chargers, and that Week 10 game will kick off the second half of the Niners’ season after a 4-4 start to the 2022 campaign.

And while the 49ers are focused on the Chargers, we here at Niner Noise have a luxury the team doesn’t have: the ability to look ahead.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at each of San Francisco’s remaining nine games. The trade of running back Christian McCaffrey has increased the team’s Super Bowl odds, and this means the 49ers will find themselves in a position where they could be favored to win most, if not all of, their remaining games.

As Niner fans are well aware, however, this doesn’t mean the team will sweep the rest of the season en route to a 13-4 record (although it could), as three of the losses have come in spite of being the betting favorite heading into the game.

It does feel likely that San Francisco will be competitive in each contest, though, and as the 49ers stand to be as healthy as they’ve been since Week 1 with the return of players like running back Elijah Mitchell, linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Dre Greenlaw, and cornerback Jason Verrett eminent, things appear to be looking up.

So, even though the Niners aren’t where we expected them to be at this point in the year, based on our offseason predictions, let’s see if the remainder of the campaign will be a little kinder.
