49ers news: Frank Clark continues to bash Niners after loss to Chiefs
By Peter Panacy
If the 49ers ever want Chiefs pass-rusher Frank Clark to pipe down and shut up, they might want to make that statement on the field for a change.
In February of 2020, San Francisco 49ers fans watched in horror as the Kansas City Chiefs erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV and took that home to a 31-20 victory.
Then, two seasons later in Week 7 with the Chiefs coming to Levi’s Stadium in what was effectively a grudge-match game, San Francisco was again embarrassed by losing a 10-point lead, although the 44-23 victory for KC was probably a bit more indicative of other things going wrong for the 49ers right now.
While there should be plenty of Chiefs players rejoicing at the domination over the Niners, pass-rusher Frank Clark is probably the most vocal.
And he didn’t hesitate to talk plenty of smack about San Francisco once the game was over.
Chiefs’ Frank Clark talks more trash about 49ers after Week 7
Shortly after the game, Clark spoke to reporters from Levi’s Stadium and had a pretty telling comment to make:
"We’re playing the 49ers in their area. We just lost last week [to the Buffalo Bills], so if we had any type of nuts we’re going to go out there and get the job done today, and that’s what happened. We beat their ass in their stadium. They talked all that **** and you see what happened. We’re still stepping on them two years later I think it is."
Clark was a wrecking ball for Kansas City’s defense during the game, picking up 1.5 sacks on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, including one in the end zone that went for a safety.
That’s now twice this season where Garoppolo has been hit with a play resulting in a safety.

And Sunday’s game also marks the second time in which Clark has trash-talked Garoppolo and the 49ers, too.
Going back to the immediate aftermath of Super Bowl LIV, Clark called out Jimmy G for not being good enough with the game on the line, saying:
"You paying the guy $140 million, $130 million, whatever he’s getting paid, man. He’s gotta throw the ball. Obviously, he didn’t do that. They threw for about 200 yards on checkdowns. That ain’t enough to win a game against us."
It’s hard to tell Clark to shut up if he’s on the winning side of these games, and he’s not wrong about going into Levi’s Stadium and stomping all over the Niners either.
Because that’s precisely what happened on Sunday afternoon.
