The 49ers visit the Panthers today in Week 5, and we’ve got your injury updates, betting odds and different ways you can watch the game.

The San Francisco 49ers certainly “got right” during their primetime Week 4 beatdown of the Los Angeles Rams last Monday night. And one should imagine that momentum can carry over against a notably inferior opponent in the 1-3 Carolina Panthers this Sunday.

It’s the perfect rematch to watch Pro Bowl EDGE Nick Bosa go up against his old collegiate rival, Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield, especially in light of what Bosa did to Mayfield the last time these two players met when the quarterback was with the Cleveland Browns.

Bosa had two sacks, five quarterback hits and a forced fumble in that game.

However, Week 5 will be a notably different challenge, particularly with Mayfield donning a Panthers uniform and Carolina’s offense struggling mightily over the first four weeks of the season.

Even with some notable injuries, the Niners are still the vastly superior squad.

49ers injury report vs. Panthers Week 5

San Francisco is dealing with some notable injury attrition heading into Week 5, including being down two of its starting defensive tackles, Javon Kinlaw (knee) and Arik Armstead (foot), who were ruled out for the contest.

The 49ers’ Week 5 injury report is as follows:

  • DL Arik Armstead (foot): OUT
  • DL Javon Kinlaw (knee): OUT
  • RB Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle): OUT
  • TE Tyler Kroft (knee): OUT
  • OL Colton McKivitz (knee): OUT
  • OL Trent Williams (ankle): OUT
  • DB Tarvarius Moore (hamstring): OUT

The Niners’ defensive line depth has helped make up for the losses of Kinlaw and Armstead, but the team is now down to its third-string tackle, Jaylon Moore, with both Williams and McKivitz out for the immediate future.

49ers vs. Panthers odds, spread, over/under & betting pick Week 5

Carolina owns one of the league’s worst offenses in a number of different categories, including the fewest total yards gained (1,049). Meanwhile, San Francisco is atop the defensive leaderboards in nearly every significant category, which helps describe why head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad is a 6.5-point road favorite, according to the oddsmakers at WynnBET.

Perhaps that spread isn’t higher due to the 49ers having to travel across the country on a short week.

The Niners’ moneyline is at -275, and the Panthers’ is +225.

The over/under for the game is currently set at 39.5.

San Francisco’s offense has still struggled to reach its full potential, but there’s no reason to expect anything but a defensive domination on the 49ers’ part, likely leading to something like a 20-6 victory for the red and gold.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
