Kyle Shanahan must tweak 49ers offense by using Kyle Juszczyk

Week 4 finally provided the pleasure of seeing in action, the Swiss Army knife fullback, Kyle Juszczyk.

“Juice” had a reception for 9 yards and also added a catch for 35 yards, too, in the victory over Los Angeles.

At the same time, though, he has almost become a forgotten man in this offense. Juszczyk is such a great lead blocker for whoever lines up in the backfield, that he tends to get stuck in that role for most of the game, and the injuries to San Francisco’s offensive line might press him to do more of that.

Still, through four games of the season so far, the perennial Pro Bowler has a whopping total of three rush attempts, five passing targets with just two receptions. For all the coaching savviness Kyle Shanahan possesses, allowing Juszczyk to be more of a mismatch weapon on offense would do a lot of good.

If the offense can catch up to its elite defense, the sky’s the limit for this franchise in 2022.
