49ers vs. Broncos: Predicting which Niners tee off on Sunday night
The 49ers do battle with the Broncos on Sunday Night Football, and we predict which Niners players will have big games in prime time.
In Week 3, the 1-1 San Francisco 49ers travel to the Mile High City to face off against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football and look to get their record above .500.
The Niners will see a number of familiar faces on the field during their game with Denver, too.
The new quarterback for the Broncos is none other than Russell Wilson, a familiar foe whom San Francisco faced twice a year during his previous 10 seasons as a member of the division rival Seattle Seahawks.
The 49ers will also see some former teammates across the field as defensive tackle D.J. Jones and cornerback K’Waun Williams are now members of the Broncos.
If we put aside the Niners’ 55-10 Super Bowl win against the Broncos from way back in 1990 and only look at the regular-season bouts, the head-to-head record between these two teams is 7-7.
So, this prime-time game will give one of these two teams the edge.
Now, San Francisco might be 1-1 at this point, but its Week 1 loss to the Chicago Bears was quite an outlier as there was monsoon-level rain happening during that game and the team lost starting running back Elijah Mitchell to injury.
The 49ers have actually been quite impressive through two weeks. The defense is the best in the league right now, only allowing 210 yards per game to opponents. The offense is fourth best in the league in yards rushing per game at 182.5.
Having said that, though, which Niners will make a big impact in Sunday night’s game?
We take a look at four players who will tee off against Denver.
