Well, that didn’t go as planned. Correct us if we’re wrong, but we don’t remember anyone impartial stating the San Francisco 49ers would march into Soldier Field for a game versus the Chicago Bears and fall flat on their faces.

Even had you missed the live airing but remembered to set your DVR to record the broadcast, someone could have spoiled the outcome for you prior to returning home, and you still probably would have turned the game on with the expectation that the Niners would find a way to earn the victory.

If only life and the NFL had a reset button like those old Nintendo consoles. Oh well, there’s no use in crying over spilled milk. The 24-hour rule must be honored. Let’s move on to Week 2 as quickly as possible.

49ers vs Seahawks Odds Week 2

Week 2 offers a game versus a familiar foe in the 49ers’ home opener, the rival Seattle Seahawks in the ‘Richard Sherman Bowl’. According to FanDuel, following Seattle’s opening-night triumph over the Denver Broncos, San Francisco is an 8.5-point home favorite.

The moneyline is -390 for San Francisco as opposed to +310 for Seattle. The over/under is set at 42.5 points.

49ers vs Seahawks Prediction Week 2

Overreaction tends to run rampant in the NFL. Sure, the 49ers should have beaten the Bears, but this is a marathon. They’ll be fine.

As has been the case for a while, the NFC West is one of pro football’s most competitive divisions. That isn’t news either, but despite the fact that the Bay Area is down in the dumps at the moment, a win in the home opener by this 49ers team will set everything straight and steady the ship.

Pete Carroll, the Seahawks, and Geno Smith deserve a tip of the cap for ruining Russell Wilson’s first game with the Broncos. They answered the call in what was, no doubt, an emotional game. Can they replicate that type of energy and emotion six days later? We doubt it. Plus they won’t have the 12th man backing them.

Write it down. The San Francisco 49ers bounce back in Week 2 behind the efforts of a better-looking performance by Trey Lance. We like the under if you’re betting the point total. A 24-17 final score sounds about right in a game that features two interesting yet unimpressive quarterbacks on both sides.
