Miles Murphy and Tyree Wilson are certain to pique the 49ers’ interest.

At six-foot-five and 275 pounds, Myles Murphy is everything pro scouts are looking for in a defensive prospect from a physical standpoint. He isn’t too shabby when you look at his skill set either.

As a Clemson Tigers freshman in 2020, he flashed early, thrilling fans with 37 total tackles and four sacks in his first 12 games at the NCAA level. He followed that up with 39 tackles and 14.5 sacks in his sophomore campaign a year ago. The questions are about what he’ll do in what figures to be his swan song this season.

He’s on several NFL scouts’ minds already. Everyone will be talking about him at season’s end. Know this. A 49ers defense with him and Nick Bosa as the bookends of their front will give opposing offensive coordinators nightmares for years to come.

Guys like Texas Tech Red Raiders standout Tyree Wilson are the reason why phrases like ‘breakout star’ exist. He appeared in five games for Texas A&M in 2019 and added 12 total tackles and 1.5 sacks to their cause before transferring to Texas Tech and following a seven-game, ten-tackle, and 1.5-sack outing in 2020 with his best season. That was last year’s 38-tackle, seven-sack performance.

They don’t play a ton of defense in the Big 12, but Wilson is certain to turn heads. Add his name to a list of the top ten EDGE stars in the country. He may be better suited to play outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme, but he can play in a 4-3 scheme with his hand in the dirt as well.
