The 49ers open up their 2022 preseason campaign at home against the Packers, and we’ve got your betting odds and how you can tune in live to the game.

After (another) turbulent offseason, the San Francisco 49ers get to business tonight for the first time since falling short in the NFC Championship game versus the Los Angeles Rams last February.

Granted, Friday night’s contest against the visiting Green Bay Packers is a preseason game, so it’s not exactly a top-billed grudge match in light of the Niners upsetting quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Co. in the divisional round of the playoffs last season.

And with Rodgers not poised to play in this exhibition bout, the brand of football for fans is going to look awfully different than what’s expected when the regular season kicks off this September.

Nevertheless, head coach Kyle Shanahan did inform reporters he’s going to play a few of his starters, including quarterback Trey Lance, who’ll assume the reins as San Francisco’s full-time starter this year.

49ers injury report vs. Packers Preseason Week 1

Teams don’t have to release official injury reports during exhibition games, but we do know the following about the Niners’ injury situation.

Cornerback Jason Verrett and tight end Charlie Woerner are both on the physically unable-to-perform (PUP) list and won’t play, while defensive lineman Maurice Hurst and tight end Jordan Matthews are on injured reserve with likely season-ending injuries suffered during training camp.

Rookie defensive lineman Kalia Davis, who is recovering from a collegiate ACL tear, is on the non-football injury (NFI) list.

Additionally, cornerbacks Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley are recovering from minor injuries and aren’t expected to play.

49ers vs. Packers odds, spread, over/under & betting pick preseason Week 1

Believe it or not, there are actually betting odds for Friday’s preseason bout between San Francisco and Green Bay.

According to the oddsmakers over at WynnBET, the Niners are 2.5-point home favorites and have a moneyline of -150.

The over/under for the game is currently set at 33.0.

No one cares about preseason final scores, but let’s have a little fun and suggest rookie third-string quarterback Brock Purdy somehow engineers the red and gold to victory in a late fourth-quarter drive, giving San Francisco a 21-17 victory.
