49ers training camp is in full swing with the defense frequently topping the offense when it comes to practices thus far for San Francisco.

San Francisco 49ers training camp is in full effect, with the preseason games creeping ever closer and Week 1 of the regular season creeping ever closer beyond that.

After so long without football, it’s not a surprise that people are hooked on everything going on at camp.

Luckily for Niners fans, this has been quite an eventful time for the team so far.

We already covered Week 1 here, which details the first four days of practice in camp. As you can expect, this week we cover everything from after that to Day 10.

Let’s not waste any time and get right to the first tidbit.

What we learned from 49ers training camp: Some changes to the first team

While the majority of San Francisco’s starters are well and truly entrenched, the team is still trying to plug the hole at center and at safety before the first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

Jake Brendel and Daniel Brunskill are the candidates to fill the role at center, and the 49ers haven’t been able to make up their minds as of yet as to who the starter will be. Brunskill is the better blocker, but Brendel is the better snapper. If Brunskill continues to struggle to snap the ball, then Brendel may have to be the starter by proxy.

Talanoa Hufanga has had a decent camp so far, but the team has also been rotating in Tarvarius Moore at the position. Both are talented players in very different ways, and the Niners are pretty high on both.

Both positional battles still have a long way to go.
