49ers fantasy football sleeper No. 1: K Robbie Gould

Robbie Gould is one of the elite kickers in the NFL. So when it is time for you to elect your kicker, you must consider the Gould mine.

One of the fascinating aspects of fantasy football is its players tend to neglect the kicker position. I find that a questionable decision considering if you elect a kicker that is a stud or in the right situation, you can benefit from their accuracy or the team’s situational field-goal kicks.

Quarterback Trey Lance, entering his sophomore season, will benefit from and lean heavily on Gould at the beginning and end of the season. Fantasy players can capitalize on that if they strategically select someone like Gould.

Regarding reliability, Gould went 6-of-6 last postseason during the Niners’ 2021 NFC Championship run. Gould has proven to be a player you can rely on to excel in his role, and this upcoming season, he is sure to be a busy man with Lance at the helm, whether kicking field goals or extra points through the uprights.

Gould is the caliber of player whose body of work sells itself. Luckily, since fantasy players tend to neglect the kicker position as I mentioned earlier, you might have the opportunity to draft him onto your fantasy team late.

Take this question as food for thought: Would drafting Robbie Gould onto your fantasy team not be one of the most logical and responsible decisions to make?
