49ers fans love to think they’re the best of the best in the NFC West, but where do they stack up against fanbases from the rest of the division?

NFL fanbases can take on a personality of their own. Out with the Buffalo Bills, there’s Bills Mafia. Raider Nation is a thing for the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Green Bay Packers have the Cheeseheads.

For the San Francisco 49ers, of course, they are the Faithful, a designation that is important to the franchise as the iconic red and gold the team has donned for decades.

Naturally, Niners fans don’t just feel they are the best fans within the NFC West but also the entire NFL. Honestly, which top-end franchise fanbase across the league wouldn’t feel that way?

However, if we’re to take an objective look at San Francisco’s fanbase and stack it up against the rest of the teams within the division, we might come to a slightly different conclusion. Granted, there might be some influences here in the wake of the 49ers losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the 2022 NFC Championship game, followed by LA pulling off its own Super Bowl win two weeks later.

Yet that might wholly turn the tide in favor of Los Angeles, at least in terms of overtaking Niners fans within the NFC West.

It’s a fun exercise and certainly worth some bragging rights, but we have to do ourselves a favor here and not be too “homeristic” here by automatically crowning San Francisco as having the best fans in the NFC West.

Even though Niner Noise is a 49ers fan site after all.

Let’s kick things off with the worst of the NFC West’s worst.
