Disaster seems to always knock on the 49ers’ door, and here are three in-depth ways San Francisco’s 2022 season could go horrifically wrong.

The 2022 NFL season is on the horizon.

The San Francisco 49ers, like the rest of the league, are gearing up to make a pursuit at the illustrious Lombardi Trophy. The Niners have been inching closer to that feat and hope this season could be the one where they reach the mountain top.

A year ago, of course, San Francisco outmanned the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, stymying the top-ranked offensive team in 2021 before stifling the three-time league MVP Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, defeating them 13-10 in the divisional round of the 2022 playoffs.

It was again falling close to the finish line at the hands of a division rival, the Los Angeles Rams, who went on to win the Super Bowl.

The 49ers have steps to take to garner the success manifested elsewhere in the division with the Seattle Seahawks during the eras of quarterback Russell Wilson and “Legion of Boom” days, or even Rams, who are looking to create their own dynasty now. The Niners and Arizona Cardinals are the two teams in the NFC West that have had success but have been unable to win the big one.

Speaking of the Cardinals, they just recently paid their young star quarterback, Kyler Murray, and meanwhile, Jimmy Garoppolo is still on the Niners’ roster.

Although that could change awfully soon.

Last season, San Francisco reached the NFC Championship game for the fifth time in the previous decade without winning the title. This team has had its share of success recently, but what could prevent the 49ers from reaching the promised land again this season? You never want to speak harmful ideals into existence, however, it is wise to view this team and sport objectively and be as logical as possible.

There are always many ways your season can sink into the abyss. Through this analysis, let’s look at three tailor-made hiccups that could occur, provoking the Niners’ season to go horrifically wrong.
