49ers don’t have to worry about Trey Lance because of a strong offensive supporting cast

It’s not just the Niners defense needing to assist Trey Lance here. The offense, too, has plenty of blue-chip talent.

In what’s basically an opposite scenario of what’s going on with fellow second-year quarterback Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears, who didn’t exactly stockpile offensive weapons for him this offseason, Lance will have the bonus of two All-Pros in Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle, while fellow wideout Brandon Aiyuk and a strong running game should take even more pressure off Lance to “do it all.”

And while he’s on the defensive side of the ball, defensive tackle Arik Armstead reinforced this when he told The Jim Rome Show:

"I’m expecting great things from him. I’m excited to see what he’s going to do, but he’s not alone when he takes the field. Our team is very talented, and it’s not just “The Trey Lance Show.” He’s surrounded by a lot of talented, great players, and we’re all going to go out there and do what we can to help us win games. It’s not just going to be on his shoulders."

If there is a concern, San Francisco was forced to change out 40 percent of its offensive line starting cast during the offseason, which could make life difficult.

However, it would be far worse if Lance also lacked the playmaking attributes of players like Samuel and Kittle, too.
