49ers news: Training camp dates for 2022 announced

The 49ers’ kickoff for training camp in 2022 is public knowledge now with the league officially releasing training camp start dates for all 32 teams.
We’ve known for a while the San Francisco 49ers would kick off training camp in 2022 sometime towards the end of July.
We now know exactly what date that’ll be.
The NFL released the opening kickoff dates for camp for all 32 teams, and the Niners will begin the next phase of their offseason program with a start of Tuesday, July 26. Practices will be held at San Francisco’s usual practice facility, the SAP Performance Facility, just outside of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The 49ers wrapped up their most recent offseason session with a two-day mandatory minicamp, which ended on Wednesday, June 8. Players and coaches are essentially on a summer break until the end of July.
Both rookies and veterans will be reporting on the same day, which isn’t always the standard for each team in the league.
Can fans attend 49ers training camp?
The Niners have previously opened some of their training camp practices to the public, although that was put to a halt during 2020 because of the pandemic.

How long will 49ers training camp last?
Training camp typically features a ramp-up in intensity over the padless, non-contact practice sessions that took place during minicamp and organized team activities. Teams usually don pads and engage in more physical contact about a week or so into training camp.
The NFL preseason, now consisting of three games after changes were made entering 2021, will begin for the 49ers with a home contest against the Green Bay Packers on Friday, Aug. 12.
The Niners then visit the Minnesota Vikings for Week 2 of the exhibition phase on Saturday, Aug. 20 before wrapping up the preseason on the road against the Houston Texans on Thursday, Aug. 25.
San Francisco kicks off its 2022 regular-season campaign with a road contest against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. ET.
