No. 2: 49ers running back Tyrion Davis-Price

There might be a little bit of a stretch here with the 49ers’ Round 3 NFL Draft pick, running back Tyrion Davis-Price, who is going to have to prove a lot of doubters wrong this season.

But, according to Jennifer Lee Chan, the rookie wasn’t participating in practices during this open media session.

That’s potentially a bad thing.

Granted, Kyle Shanahan typically starts off rookies way down on the depth chart, and Davis-Price will have to outperform others like JaMycal Hasty, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Trey Sermon to climb any higher. Yet this should be easier with presumed No. 1 running back Elijah Mitchell not participating either.

Sermon and Hasty have been getting the first-team reps, at least during open sessions, which won’t afford the former LSU standout a chance to climb the depth chart ahead of training camp.
