Massive 49ers fan No. 7: Rob Schneider

Much like E-40, there’s no shortage of Bay Area loyalties from actor and comedian Rob Schneider, who can regularly be seen attending both 49ers and Giants games throughout the calendar year.

Alright, so it’s one thing to be in plain view donning Bay Area sports teams’ apparel, and Schneider never hesitates to do that.

But where things get a little more interesting is back when the Niners were going through some awfully bad doldrums in 2015 and 2016.

It’s anyone’s guess how serious he was, but Schneider was openly pitching to CEO Jed York and family to sell the team to his own group, a move that would precede naming Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young as general manager to spark what was a necessary rebuild:

“If Yorks sell @49ers to our group, our first move would be to make Steve Young General Manager of football operations. @CBSSportsRadio,” Schneider once posted on Twitter in a since-deleted tweet.

The Yorks elected to go with general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan instead, though, and that ultimately worked out well enough.

Schneider should nevertheless be pleased.
