49ers schedule, Week 12 vs. Saints: DT Kentavius Street

Another former depth member of San Francisco’s defense will pay a visit to Levi’s Stadium, now-New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Kentavius Street, whom the 49ers drafted in Round 4 of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Taking Street that year was a bit of a surprise move by the Niners. After all, he tore his ACL during a pro-day workout just ahead of that year’s draft, meaning San Francisco would have to redshirt him his rookie season.

It probably forced many a 49ers fan to bitterly recall the previous years when former general manager Trent Baalke would frequently stockpile his “All-ACL” team.

At any rate, Street turned into an effective if not overly impressive rotational player, who at least finished his Niners career on a high note with three sacks in 2021.

The Saints enter 2022 with a stout defense, so it’s not clear what his role will be on a one-year deal.

San Francisco hopes it won’t be much of an impactful one anyway when these two teams square off in Week 12.
