Way-too-soon 49ers 4-round mock NFL Draft for 2023

Round 3, Pick No. 89 Overall: 49ers select IOL Sedrick Van Pran, Georgia
San Francisco did make some notable additions to its offensive line in the 2022 NFL Draft, grabbing UTSA lineman Spencer Burford and Fordham lineman Nick Zakelj on day three, then doubling down by inking Arizona State center Dohnovan West as an undrafted free agent.
West could have been an early day-three pick, and there’s going to be the hope he winds up being an effective center to eventually replace the not-yet-retired Pro Bowler, Alex Mack, who’ll nevertheless turn 37 years old this season.
Perhaps that plan works. Yet the 49ers could still afford some interior O-line help, particularly if one or more of these 2022 rookie additions fails to pan out.
Part of the solution? Look no further than Georgia interior lineman Sedrick Van Pran.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pounder plays with some pure thump and a high-intensity motor, which was on display during the Bulldogs’ run towards their national championship last season. Good run-blocking skills will be his calling card, too, and the Niners could turn him into an immediate interior backup if they still prefer to go with veterans at center.
