49ers missed-opportunity No. 3: Offensive lineman Dylan Parham, Memphis

Just like Nick Cross and Kerby Joseph, Memphis interior offensive lineman Dylan Parham was in the mix as a potential 49ers top target in the 2022 NFL Draft, some mocks even suggesting he could be the Niners’ first selection at the back end of Round 2.

Most mocks, however, had Parham as a possible third-round selection, probably available towards the end of the round anyway.

Sounded good, right? After all, San Francisco had those two late Round 3 picks at its disposal, and one of those could have been used on Parham to address those interior needs, namely finding a long-term replacement for aging center Alex Mack, who is reportedly mulling retirement.

Parham, a versatile and intelligent interior lineman, would have been a great pickup with either one of the 49ers’ two third-round selections.

Unfortunately, though, the draft-hosting Las Vegas Raiders thwarted any plans the Niners had for this scenario, grabbing Parham at No. 90 overall.
