Cornerback. Baltimore Ravens. Jalyn Armour-Davis. 119. player. 26.

49ers missed-opportunity No. 6: Cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis, Alabama

Damn the Ravens. They had an excellent draft, truly, seemingly landing the best-available player at each and every turn throughout every round.

Alabama cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis would have been an awesome pickup for San Francisco in Round 4. But as noted earlier, the 49ers weren’t picking until No. 134 overall, and those same Ravens ended up grabbing Armour-Davis at No. 119 overall.

Yet one could make the argument the 6-foot-1, 197-pound Armour-Davis should have been grabbed by the Niners at the tail end of Round 3.

Regardless, San Francisco could have afforded to draft and stash Armour-Davis as a backup right away, letting the one-year starter develop behind Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley, then turn him into a probable starting option in 2023.

Armour-Davis is great in man coverage, better in zone. He would have been an excellent get from the 49ers’ perspective.
