NFL Draft 2022: Predicting what 49ers could get in a Deebo Samuel trade

If you look up the Houston Texans’ needs on Pro Football Focus’ website for their mock draft simulator it will show, “Every Position”, which is not untrue.

The Texans have a lot of question marks on their roster including at the quarterback position. True, Davis Mills looked solid and better than what people give him credit for in his rookie year, and one can hope they continue to let him develop to see if they struck gold on the position without realizing they did.

Houston could use another offensive weapon to surround Mills with, though, and Deebo Samuel could be that very weapon who could pose a threat in the AFC South, but the Texans nevertheless will need to keep on bolstering the roster everywhere else, especially on the defensive side.

The team could possibly part away from their 13th overall pick alongside the 37th and 80th overall picks if they truly wanted Samuel. If the Texans were smart, they would try to trade down and try to grab more picks instead of staying with their third overall pick.

This draft isn’t necessarily strong in the first round, but there are some deep positions this year they could take advantage of.

The draft is only hours away, and it’s exciting to think of all the trade scenarios that could possibly happen regarding the 49ers and Samuel. This is going to be an interesting draft this year with also the possibility of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo getting moved as well on draft night.If nothing happens with the two players, then one would expect Samuel to be on the team this year and Jimmy G getting traded or released by training camp.
