49ers 2022 NFL Draft target No.5: CB Marcus Jones, Houston

Marcus Jones has the ability to give the 49ers some juice at the slot corner and punt returner position. Blessed with extraordinary quickness and vision, Jones has game-altering ability that the Niners haven’t had in decades.

With the offseason departure of K’Waun Williams, the 49ers need to fill the slot corner void immediately, and Jones is a capable replacement.

At 5-foot-8 and 174 pounds, Jones turned in a fantastic year recording five interceptions and also scoring on four kick and punt returns combined.

With the many layers of Jones, it would not be shocking to see him drafted early in the third round and possibly sooner.

This draft contains several deep position groups, and the 49ers need to come away with positive marks on this draft with no swings and misses. Jones is a safe pick who can bring delight in other ways because of his value on special teams.
