NFL Draft Pick No. 30: Kansas City Chiefs – Kyler Gordon, Cornerback, Washington

Trent McDuffie isn’t the only cornerback from Washington who could go on Thursday night, as the Chiefs desperately need a cornerback to replace the departed Charvarius Ward and Mike Hughes. There are quite a few candidates at cornerback that could go late in the first round.

Kyler Gordon has had his draft stock soar after the collegiate season ended, to the point he’s earned an invite to attend the draft on Thursday night. There’s a good chance he’s now going to be picked early, and the Chiefs would be the perfect place for him to land.

Gordon is an exceptional athlete who’s a natural perimeter defender with his athletic ability and his tackling prowess. He had two interceptions and seven passes defended this season as he formed an excellent tandem with McDuffie.

Gordon had an excellent performance in the combine to become a potential first-round pick. He could be a potential bolter who’s taken earlier than people might expect.

Kansas City will probably take a cornerback with one of its picks, and Gordon looks a good bet.
