NFL Draft Pick No. 17: Houston Texans – Drake London, Wide Receiver, USC

The Texans have a dilapidated roster that needs an upgrade in virtually every position. Davis Mills will be given one more season to prove himself, but he needs another weapon to throw to other than Brandin Cooks

Teams look at London and they see a mismatch. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, and he has that intriguing blend of speed, size and toughness that could make him stand out at the next level.

London had 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns this season for the Trojans. He played both outside and in the slot for USC, and he has surprising speed and separation for a receiver of his height.

Teams are always looking for the next Calvin Johnson for their team. While it would be a big stretch to put London in the same league as Megatron, even with how hyped they were in the predraft process (Johnson was considered a real chance for the No. 1 pick that year, London is not), it’s not a stretch to see those physical similarities.
