49ers wouldn’t trade Deebo Samuel to Buccaneers

Perhaps a little bit of negative back-channeling here. But if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were going to refuse any request from quarterback Tom Brady to be traded back to his boyhood 49ers after his unretirement, why would the Niners oblige and trade Deebo Samuel out to Tampa Bay?

OK, so no one knows for sure if Brady ever requested that, and Samuel is nowhere close to even being in the same discussion as Brady in terms of pedigree.

But you get the point… hopefully.

At any rate, Brady’s return propels the Bucs back into Super Bowl contention this year, and a pairing of Samuel with fellow wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin would surely make Tampa Bay the presumed “best of the best” in the NFC.

Yes, even above the Rams. Above San Francisco and even above another team on this list we’ll get to in a moment.

The 49ers would simply have zero interest in trying to add more weaponry to Brady’s arsenal this offseason, especially if those two squads came to blows in the playoffs when the 2022 campaign is coming to its climax.
