49ers must-have NFL Draft prospect No. 3: OL Dylan Parham, Memphis

Smart teams never shy away from investing in the trenches, and even though the Niners could potentially get by without any reinforcements for the offensive line, it wouldn’t be shocking if they both look for long-term replacements and immediate player upgrades in this year’s draft.

The late stages of Round 2 might be a bit of a reach for Memphis offensive lineman Dylan Parham, although he should be in play a round later. Whether or not he slips to one of San Francisco’s two third-round picks is anyone’s guess. But if the 6-foot-3, 285-pound versatile lineman is there at No. 93 overall, the 49ers should easily pounce.

Parham, who has sub-5.0 40-yard time and can move well, doubles as both a guard and a center.

Both spots are Niners’ needs, too.

San Francisco could look to upgrade the right guard spot over Daniel Brunskill, while there has to be a long-term contingency plan to eventually replace aging Pro Bowl center Alex Mack, who’ll turn 37 years old this season.

Even if he enters the league as a backup, Parham could potentially be pegged as Mack’s replacement while serving as some much-needed depth in year one.
