49ers must-have NFL Draft prospect No. 4: CB Coby Bryant, Cincinnati

Sticking with the cornerback theme here, the 49ers may not want to be overly patient with a draft-and-develop prospect like Tariq Woolen, and Woolen’s intangibles may make him unavailable by Round 3 anyway.

If the Niners are interested in more experience, they could easily look at Cincinnati cornerback Coby Bryant instead.

Bryant, 6-foot-1 and 198 pounds, has nowhere near the speed of Woolen. But in terms of experience and football IQ at the position, the former is far superior.

On top of that, Bryant’s six interceptions and three forced fumbles over the last two years highlight some ballhawking abilities San Francisco’s secondary could sorely use, and Bryant’s fit in a zone-style system would likely maximize these traits.

Figuring to be a late third-round pick, the 49ers may have two chances at landing someone like Bryant who’d be a candidate to start opposite Charvarius Ward right away.
